Happy Birthday!

A quick post to say this blog is one year old today. Yay! 😀 I would have loved to write a long and winding post about how this blog changed my life and even make a grand Oscar-worthy thank you speech but P is being a pain in the you-know-where and pestering me to ‘shut that damn thing down’ and watch a TV series with him.

So I’ll quickly share with you what I’ve been working on in the past few days. Ready? Okay, here goes!

Friends, say hello to the Amigurumi Flower Fairy and her friends the Gentleman Bunny and Lady Bunny. These three will be parceled off to my mom next month on her birthday 🙂

The pattern for these amigurumi bunnies, designed by Stephanie Jessica Lau, can be found here, while the Gentleman Bunny’s miniature hat pattern is from Christen Haden’s Creepy Cute Crochet.

The Lady Bunny Skirt is crocheted flat and joined at the seams later. Here’s how I did it:

Chain 29 (28 chains = widest part of the bunny body + 1 ch).

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, sc across. (28)

Row 2: Sc 2 in each sc across. (56)

Row 3: Dc in each sc across and fasten off. (58)

Wrap the skirt on the girl bunny and sew the seams.

This pretty little flower fairy is a Mia Zamora-Johnson design. This is one of the loveliest free amigurumi patterns I have seen so far. If you’d like to make one for yourself, the pattern can be found here.

If you need help with her hair, here is an amazing amigurumi hair tutorial by Owly.

That’s all for today. Happy crocheting 😀

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go watch an entire season of Weeds with P 😉 Thanks for reading 🙂
