Everything must be amigurumi-fied, even knife wielding dolls with a murderous streak. So here’s Chucky, the dude responsible for my childhood nightmares.
I had quite a bit of fun making this little bad guy because at 8.5 inches, he’s the right sized amigurumi that allows you to add in a lot of details. So I went detail crazy! Right from the stripes on his Converse shoes to colorful stripes on the cuffs of his overalls to the scar on his face. I even gave him eyebrows! And the result is nothing short of fabulous, if I say so myself. 😉 
I must warn you though. This pattern requires that you have some basic embroidery skills. Patience is also right up there in the list of must-have skills since you will need to sew several tiny crocheted pieces. If you are not particularly a fan of changing color every row, let me warn you, your patience will be put to the ultimate test. Phew! This is an intermediate pattern as it requires working with four different colored yarns at a time, switching between working in the front loops and back loops, working in back posts, making loop stitches, and every other kind of amigurumi technique that drives the lazy out of you. 😉 
Though I’ve tried to include photos that explain the difficult bits, a tutorial on making loop stitch—which is what I have used to make the wig—is probably the only thing this pattern does not include. Trust me, I would if I could but apparently, a pair of hands isn’t enough to hold the hook, the yarn, and the camera. I have a nagging suspicion that crocheteers who post photo tutorials either have an extra pair of limbs or they have a crochet slave stashed away in their basement. So here’s what we will do. We’ll make a quick run to FreshStitches.com where Stacey has an excellent photo tutorial on how to make a loop stitch.

You’ll probably need 30-40 gm of copper red for his hair, not more than 25 gm of light peach for his head and hands, and around 20 gm dark blue. For the remaining colors, you’ll only need small amounts.

I see my ? About 24 should be 28 has been answered. Not sure what it would take to edit but I spent 2 days and many do overs to think it might be an opps. I 1st made this when I was very new to crocheting and now that I am better I thought I might re-make him. Because I think he is the coolest doll out there. I discovered I had omitted the bpsc and only did the blo stich. It turned out fine but adding the bpsc gave the little shoes firmer, cleaner details. So new crocheters don’t be afraid to tackle Chucky. Follow each step that is wonderfully described in text and pics. I learned a few new stitches but nothing I couldn’t handle. This is a wonderful pattern. Thanks for being so kind in sharing it.

Hi I don’t know if this is a Longshot. I am having trouble on the wig. I’m fine with the loop stitch it’s just understanding how to work the round. It says to make the loop in each stitch and then Inc in all 8 stitches. Do I run the round twice before moving onto the next round? And then on the rounds with the loops and then stitches in ( ). How do I work those?
The loop stitch is made in every single stitch on every alternate row.
For example, in Round 2 you have 8 stitches and you are required to increase each of these 8 stitches. So you make 2 loop stitches in each stitch, taking the stitch count to 16.
In Round 3, you work normally, making a sc in the first stitch and 2 sc (increase) in the next stitch. Repeat 8 times.
Again in Round 4 (alternate round), you make loop stitches in the next 2 stitches and 2 loop stitches (increase) in the next stitch. Repeat 4 times.
In Round 5, you work normally, making a sc in the first 3 stitches and 2 sc (increase) in the next stitch. Repeat 8 times.
So every round that starts with the instruction to make loop stitches, you do them as you worked Rounds 2 & 4.
I hope this makes it clear.

I’m trying to make Chucky, but I’m confused at round 4 in the shoe. Sounds 2 and 3 have 28 sc round 4 has 24 bpsc, so there’s 4 sc stitches to finish the round, do I just start round 5 with the red yarn and if I did that wouldn’t the white and red rounds be uneven

Hi! I’m having trouble on the neck/collar. For the start of peach you join in back loop and the do you do a back loop decrease all the way around? Or just a normal decrease? And when picking up the collar what stiches am I crocheting into? I’m sorry I got confused on this part and want to make sure I’m doing it right! Thanks.
Think of it this way: all the back loops of Round 20 of the body will be used for making the neck and all the front loops will be used to make the t-shirt collar.
So, join light peach yarn on the back loop of Round 20 of the body and decrease around only in the back loops.
Now, pick up the red colored loop (from Round 20 of the body) and, working on the front loops, follow the instructions for t-shirt collar.

Hello I am currently working on the wig for Chucky and am concerned when I staring working in rows instead of rows as the loops are not on the opposite site. I wanted to make sure this was current before i finish it up. Im sure the rounds will cover up the sides when im done but it seems like all loops should be coming out the same side of the wig. Thank you

You can use yarn that’s thicker than the one indicated in the pattern and a bigger hook. 🙂

Hello, I had the same problem as Veronica, when you start doing the rows for the wig, the loops will be on the opposite side. To fix it I ended up doing two rows of sc before the first row of loops.
Finished making this doll a few days ago. It was my first time using a pattern. This pattern was super detailed and easy to follow. I would love to make his beautiful bride. Are you by an chance planning to release a pattern for Tiffany?
I’m so glad you made your Chucky with this pattern. I don’t have a pattern for Tiffany but I’ve seen other folks modify this pattern a bit to make Chucky’s bride with excellent results. 🙂
